Open Water Swim (OWS) is for those who want to train and participate in open water swims and competitions.
OWS consists of several training tactics that will assist anyone competing in open water swims or those looking to compete in the pool races. After a few classes you will start to feel more confident, stronger, and most importantly relaxed when faced with the challenge of swimming in an open water competition. For those that are already expert swimmers or those just starting out, OWS will give you the tools, skills and mindset that will carry over into your race day.
The objective of the Open Water Swim Clinic is to provide all types of swimmers (novice/beginner, intermediate, expert) with information and proven swim techniques, tactics and drills (including Coach Bryan’s original creations) to assist you in your training and prepare you for open water swims and competitions with the end goal of making you faster and more comfortable in the water.
I have a proven track record, successfully working with swimmers that couldn’t swim more than five strokes without major difficulty or distress. I have trained these same people to successfully compete in open water races such as triathlons, the Cross Bay Swim and many other distance swim races. Given my track record, I can say, without a doubt, that I have changed lives and helped people overcome fears and achieve their goals. All Open Water Swim Team members have improved their times, stamina, and confidence in only a few sessions.
I have become so inspired and driven by these successes and incredible achievements, that I have committed myself to sharing my extensive knowledge and experience beyond my Open Water Masters Swim program on Long Island so that I can continue to make even a greater difference in the world of swimming and open water swim competitions. This OWS Clinic is conducted in a pool as well as an open water environment (depending on weather), and is intended to provide swimmers and aspiring athletes with the tools they need to improve their swimming technique, make them more comfortable in the water and prepare them for any future open water swim challenges. I guarantee that if you train with me, you will be a successful swimmer.
